theTrailnet is a resurrection of my old and defunct mountain bike trail site, thetrailnet.com. (thetrailnet.com was a rebranding of my first site Hajduk's Hideout; a site about mountain biking and mirco breweries). The site ran publicly from 1994 to 2002 and privately for a couple of years after that under a different URL. The site was taken down because most of my time was taken up with work and school, and the website was put on the back burner. Then finally put out if its misery. I might one day revive the old site as is for fun.
It is mainly being used to play with various backend website technologies. The site will contain all the old photos and trail descriptions, plus new photos and descriptions. This will allow you to see what the trails looked like 15+ years ago compared to today.
The old site's XHTML has been extracted and transformed to XML and JSON. All will be loaded in various DBs in the near future and a dynamic site built. The site is currently parsed offline and then uploaded onto AWS as a static web site.
Still to do: SEO, WAI, Microformats2, and RDFa 1.1.
