REVIEW

My god has this trail changed or my memory of it from 20 years ago is clouded.

The trail starts off with a rooty rockface to ride down (there is a ride around) and the trail just goes rooty downhill after that. Shortly after that is what I'm calling The Staircase of Giants. One smaller rockface immediately followed by a longer steep rockface. You can see the skid marks on it. There is a ride around but 6 of one half dozen of the other on the difficulty rating for your choice. This is immediately followed by another rockface that has what appears to be glacial striations but I'm probably wrong about that, the grooves could be created via roots. The trail after this has some real nice singletrack but with quite a few rooty steep runs. Another section of rocks to ride down but not as bad as the previously described The Staircase of Giants.

More singletrack and some nice rock work going down a steep section, followed by rooty steeps, log drops, and singletrack. Another rockface comes up shortly after this but could not see a ride around. I persnally did not like the roots that were on the rock near the bottom of it. Even more rooty steep sections after this followed by another rock section. This one easier to ride than the previous ones. Guess what follows this section, that's right, more rooty steeps, log drops, and singletrack but this time leading to what I think is the feature of Nescafe.

What I'm calling the feature of Nescafe is the section of really nice rock work going down a steep section and then onto a bridge over a stream. Lots of work went into laying down all that rock, the bridge on the other hand has seen better days.

Following this is some really nice singletrack and at one point a moss covered boulder that I'm calling The Giant's Butt Cheeks. I have a naming theme going. The boulder has a big cut in it that you ride down. This is followed by a boulder with a plank ramp going down the other side, you can ride to the left of it if you do not feel up to this stunt.

After the above mentioned boulder, the trail on Nescafe becomes some really nice singletrack with not that many tough sections until near the very end. The biggest rockface is just above the exit on Woodland Walk. You can either ride down it or around it. The rockface is not overly steep or tough but will take some balls to just let go and go over the top. And basically the trail is over after this. A short section before you exit the trail by the concrete bridge on Woodland Walk.

I hiked the trail this time but am looking forward to giving it a go on my dirt pig. I always recommend hiking a trail you are unfamiliar with before riding it. You might take one look and decide way above my skill level or this would be a good trail to try some stuff on and improve my riding skills.

REVIEW

Good to the last drop! As the sign reads.

The top half of this trail is steep and nasty. There are drops and logs to cross. The singletrack on the entire trail is great and weaves in and out of the trees. The main feature on the top half of the trail is this steep section with 3 fair sized drops on it. The bottom half of the trail is sweet singletrack. Again it winds in and out of the trees with a logs and drops to navigate. All in all a really sweet trail.
