REVIEW
I believe the trail forked at a certain point and I missed it. So the photos from the 5th switchback down are of the south fork of the trail. Will need to fix that in the future.
The trail is still as steep as I remember it. The few features that were on it are gone but that could be a bonus.

REVIEW
Didn't ride the trail but hiked it, a bit beyond my ability. The GMG is a long trail and very technical. The word steep is not good enough to describe what lays ahead for the uninitiated. The beginning of the trail is hard to find but worth the search. The trail starts out with a few steep sections and ends down in a swampy section. There are a couple of logs here to help you keep your feet dry. Next, a log ride and a log ramp down a steep. Just as this section ends a quick rock face onto an old streambed. After you cross the old stream bed you will have an ass of the seat descent and then an uphill where you'll need to shoulder your bike. Next is a boulder drop into a steep section with a ramp up a log and drop off the other side. The trail levels off here for a bit and a couple of stunts are in order. Next is a descent before you hit the logs and ladder bridge section. This section was hard enough to walk can't imagine what it would be like to ride. The logs and ladder bridges are down the side of an embankment. When you finish this section a long log ride is next and then onto another log with a tilted ladder bridge making its way around a couple of trees. After this are a couple of log rides and ramps up one side of a log and down the other. For me the next section was the hairiest, a long log ride with a steep section on your left. After you drop down a nasty steep section you'll encounter a ladder bridge up an old stump with a nasty ride out. My friends kept on telling me how steep this trail is and I never truly believed them until now. This section of the trail is the second steepest section of GMG, but probably the most challenging. Drops and a nasty grade ride are the soup du jour. First is the whoop de doop section, two ladder bridges down a couple of logs. Then between two trees with a ladder ramp ride out. So you made it down and a nice level log ride makes for a nice change of scenery. Now comes the steepest section of the GMG. There aren't too many stunts here but just steep and basically straight down the mountain. Now you're done and quite proud you only broke a few bones, congratulations.
