REVIEW

Went down the trail a couple of days after a heavy rainfall. There was a tree down near the beginning. The last bit of the upper part of the trail before Mel's has some rutting.

REVIEW

Gearjammer is one of my favourite trails on Burnaby Mt. It is basically divided into 3 sections: upper, middle, and lower.

The upper section is some of the nicest flowy singletrack around. A lot of work went into it and it shows. There is only a few man made structures on the trail, a plank, a ladder bridge, and the trail ends wih a wooden ramp down onto Mel's.

The middle section (sign reads Lower Gear Jammer) is much like the upper section but with some really nice and tight single track. There are quite a few man made structures but they a mainly ladder bridges going over little streams. The hardest section is near the middle of this section. A rutted out switchback before you hit the powerline. After this is some really nice singletrack before hitting the lower section.

The lower section is now closed due to damage after a heavy rainfall. The ruts in sections are taller than me. Do not know if they are thinking about fixing this section or just letting the forest reclaim it. No worries though, you can finish your descent on Upper Cut. I've taken a few photos of this section for prosperity.

REVIEW

This trail is tough. Loose rocks, drops/rises, logs, switchbacks, and to top it off, it is steep. Don't say I didn't warn you. Have fun on this one.
